General description

A cell-permeable sesquiterpene lactone with anti-inflammatory, antisecretory, and spasmolytic properties. Inhibits the expression of COX-2 and proinflammatory cytokines (TNF-α and IL-1) in LPS-stimulated macrophages. Also inhibits NF-κB and activation of MAP kinase.
