General description

Nafion NRE-212 membranes may be used in the investigation of oxygen reduction reaction (ORR) activity of Pt/C catalyst.

Application

Carbon nanotube reinforced Nafion composites may be prepared to be used in H2O2 fuel cells.
Nafion perfluorinated membrane is mainly used as a proton exchange membrane (PEM) for fuel cell applications. It has good proton conductivity and good physio-chemical stability. It can also be used as a reference membrane to compare and prepare high-performance composite membranes.
Nafion is a perfluorinated ion-exchange membrane which has a wide variety of commercial uses. The acidic (hydrogen ion) form and derivatives are solid, superacid catalysts useful in a wide variety of synthetic applications.

Packaging

Darkening/browning is common for pieces stored in a general room environment for an extended period of time (several months), due to organics pick-up. Verify product is kept sealed during storage.
· Keep pieces sealed and protected from general exposure will reduce the effect. Recommend long term storage in air-tight bags.
· Discoloration does not affect performance and can be removed by soaking in dilute nitric acid.

A novel flexible encapsulation method (Flex Lami-capsulation) is reported, which can be applied in the roll-to-roll process for mass production of organic electronic devices. Flex Lami-capsulation is very simple, fast, and getter-free, and is as effective as glass encapsulation. Use

Fuel cells have the potential to reduce the nation’s energy use through increased energy conversion efficiency and dependence on imported petroleum by the use of hydrogen from renewable resources.

Proton exchange membrane (PEM) fuel cells operate at relatively low temperatures and are composed of two electrodes and a conductive elecrolyte.

Advances in the electrochemical conversion of water to and from hydrogen and oxygen have principally been achieved through the development of new materials and by understanding the mechanisms of the degradation of proton exchange membrane fuel cells (PEMFC) during operation.

Our team of scientists has experience in all areas of research including Life Science, Material Science, Chemical Synthesis, Chromatography, Analytical and many others.
