Description

General description

Palladium(II) bromide (PdBr₂) is widely used as Pd(II) catalyst. PdBr₂ can be prepared by reacting palladium metal with HNO₃ and HBr. Electrosynthesis of PdBr₂ from palladium metal and HBr has been reported.

Application

Palladium(II) bromide (PdBr₂) has been used as a source of Pd(0) precatalyst in various coupling reactions. It was also employed as catalyst for the carbonylative Heck coupling reaction of aryl bromides and vinyl ethers.
