Cell Line Description

A subclone derived from Fao which is deficient in HGPRT (resistant to 5μg/ml 6-thioguanine and also resistant to 3mM ouabain). FGC4 contains the alb-gpt plasmid which is the bacterial gpt gene under control of the rat albumin promoter (400 bp). Produces albumin and ß-fibrinogen.GMO1

Application

Gene expression studies.

Culture Medium

Coon′s modified Ham′s F12 (or Kaign′s modified Ham′s F12 + 45mg/L ascorbic acid + 18mg/L Inositol) + 2mM Glutamine + 5% Foetal Bovine Serum (FBS).

Subculture Routine

Split semi-confluent cultures (70%) 1:100 i.e. seeding at 2x1000 cells/cm2 using 0.25% trypsin or trypsin/EDTA; 5% CO2; 37°C. Media change three times a week.
