Cell Line Origin
Common carp brain cell line, koi herpesvirus isolation
Cell Line Description
The CCB cell line was developed from Common carp (Cyprinus carpio carpio) brain.
Culture Medium
EMEM (EBSS) + 2 mM Glutamine + 1% Non Essential Amino Acids (NEAA) + 10% Fetal Bovine Serum (FBS). 10 mM HEPES can be included if a CO2 incubator is not available.
Subculture Routine
Split sub-confluent cultures (70-80%) 1:4 to 1:6, i.e., seeding at 2 x 104 cells/cm2 using 0.25% trypsin or trypsin/EDTA; 5% CO2; 25 °C.
