General description

Diallyl disulfide is an oil-soluble organosulfer compound found in garlic, which is known to exert chemopreventive activity against colon, lung, and skin cancer.

Application

Diallyl disulfide may be used as a reference standard for the determination of diallyl disulfide in human breath samples after ingestion of raw garlic using gas chromatography coupled with mass spectrometry (GC-MS).
