General description

A potent antagonist of GABA receptors (IC50 = 240 nM) at synapses in the central nervous system. Inhibits 35S-TBPS binding to the Cl channel (IC50 = 1.7 µM). Picrotoxin is a mixture of one mole of picrotoxinin and one mole of picrotin.
