General description

NutriSelect® prime Yeast Extract Glucose Chloramphenicol (YGC/OGY) Agar halal is a nutrient rich selective agar. The media composition contains antimicrobial agent like chloramphenicol (YGC Agar) or oxytetracycline to inhibit accompanying bacterial growth.
It is fully autoclavable along with chloramphenicol, unlike other microbial culture media.
The medium contains yeast extract which provides the vitamin source, B-complex. Glucose supplies energy for the growth of yeasts and molds and agar is the solidifying agent.

Application

NutriSelect® prime Yeast Extract Glucose Chloramphenicol (YGC/OGY) Agar halal is used for enumeration of yeasts and molds in milk, dairy products and other food and feeding stuff as well as from environmental samples from food production and food handling.
