生化/生理作用
荆豆凝集素具有抗H血型特异性。凝集素有两种类型: UEA I 对 L-岩藻糖具有亲和力,而 UEA II 对 N,N′-二乙酰壳二糖具有亲和力。最初认为UEA I摩尔量为170,000道尔顿。 后来的报道表明,UEA I可以在中性和碱性pH下形成聚集体,正确的摩尔量是68,000道尔顿。
