ZFPL1 (zinc finger protein-like 1) is a membrane protein, and forms a structural part of the Golgi apparatus. This gene is localized to human chromosome 11q13, and encodes a protein with predicted 310 amino acids. This protein contains both zinc-finger-like domains and leucine-zipper-like motifs. The zinc finger domains are present at the N-terminal. It has a molecular weight of 34kDa, and has its transmembrane domain at its C-terminal. It is a phosphoprotein, with wide range of tissue expression.

Anti-ZFPL1 antibody produced in rabbit, a Prestige Antibody, is developed and validated by the Human Protein Atlas (HPA) project . Each antibody is tested by immunohistochemistry against hundreds of normal and disease tissues. These images can be viewed on the Human Protein Atlas (HPA) site by clicking on the Image Gallery link. ZFPL1 (zinc finger protein-like 1) interacts with GM130, which is a cis-Golgi matrix protein. Through this interaction, it maintains the integrity and structure of cis-Golgi, post assembly. It is essential for the transport of Vesicular stomatitis virus G (VSV-G) from the endoplasmic reticulum to the Golgi bodies.
