Gene Information

human ... GRIA1(2890)

General description

Anti-GLUR1 Antibody detects endogenous levels of total GLUR1 protein.
The gene encoding GLUR1/GRIA1 (glutamate ionotropic receptor AMPA type subunit 1) is localized on human chromosome 5q33.2. It is expressed mainly in the brain. GLUR1 is a glutamate receptor subunit, which forms a glutamate-gated ion channel. It is part of the α-amino-3-hydroxy-5-methyl-4-isoxazole propionic acid (AMPA) receptor family.

Immunogen

The antiserum was produced against synthesized peptide derived from human GluR1.

Immunogen Range: 829-878

Biochem/physiol Actions

GLUR1/GRIA1 (glutamate ionotropic receptor AMPA type subunit 1) plays an important role in long-term potentiation (LTP). It has been associated with migraine.
