Gene Information

human ... FLT4(2324)

General description

Fms related tyrosine kinase 4 (FLT4) is also known as vascular endothelial growth factor receptor 3 (VEGFR3). It is expressed in the blood and lymphatic endothelial cells during early development. The gene encoding FLT4 is localized on human chromosome 5q35.3.

Immunogen

Peptide sequence around aa. 1279-1283 (L-A-S-E-E), according to the protein FLT4.

Application

Anti-FLT4 antibody produced in rabbit has been used in immunohistochemistry.

Biochem/physiol Actions

Fms related tyrosine kinase 4 (FLT4) has a role in lymphangiogenesis and angiogenesis. It acts as an activator in signaling pathways. Mutations in the gene encoding FLT4 have been linked to Milroy disease.
