Cell Line Description
The fish cell line PG has been initiated 1976 from ovarian tissue of 5 juvenile pike (Esox lucius). Cells grow at 4°C to 25°C with an optimum temperature of 20°C. PG cells are susceptible to various fish viruses including infectious pancreatic necosis viruses and pike fry rhabdovirus. The cell line has been mycoplasma eradicated at ECACC.
