General description

Agar Strips YM are ready-to-use culture media for assessment of airborne yeasts and molds with RCS® Air Samplers. Each individual agar strip is welded into a re-sealable sleeve and 100% visually controlled, ensuring maximum safety in critical environments. Rose-Bengal chloramphenicol agar is filled in a flexible backing film. Rose-Bengal chloramphenicol agar is a selective medium for the enumeration of yeasts and molds. Chloramphenicol, streptomycin and Rose-Bengal are included as selective agents to inhibit bacterial growth. Rose-Bengal also restricts the size and height of the colonies of rapidly growing molds, which facilitates the detection of slow growing fungi.

Application

Agar Strips are used for monitoring of ambient air and compressed gases with RCS® Air Samplers.
