Cell Line Origin

Human lung non-small cell carcinoma

Cell Line Description

A non-small cell carcinoma of the lung from a 65 year old Caucasian female taken, prior to treatment. The cells express easily detectable levels of p53 mRNA compared to levels found in normal lung. The cells are not able to synthesise gastrin releasing peptide (GRP). NCI-H727 is the best differentiated available bronchial carcinoid cell line. Any proposed commercial use of these cells or products must first be negotiated with the University of Texas. More details available upon request.
