General description

Integrin beta-3 is a member of the Integrin receptor family. The integrin family has been shown to be instrumental in cell adhesion to extracellular matrix proteins and can be found in certain cell to cell adhesions. Integrins are also important in transmembrane connections and intracellular signaling. Integrins are key to understanding many human diseases as they are commonly the receptors. Integrins have been linked to many different parts of cellular operations including; development, immunity, leukocyte traffic, homeostasis and even cancer. Once integrin beta-3 is activated, it binds fibrinogen which causes platelet to platelet interaction effectively cutting off a ruptured endothelial surface.

Specificity

Other homologies: Mouse (93% sequence homology.)
This antibody recognizes the extracellular domain of integrin beta-3.

Immunogen

Epitope: Extracellular Domain
KLH-conjugated linear peptide corresponding to human integrin beta-3 at the extracellular domain.

Application

Anti-Integrin beta-3 Antibody is an antibody against Integrin beta-3 for use in WB, IP, IH(P).
Immunohistochemistry Analysis: A 1:500 dilution from a previous lot detected intergin beta-3 in skin membrane tissue.

Immunoprecipitaiton Analysis: 10 µg from a previous lot immunoprecipitated integrin beta-3 from U251 RIPA lysate.

We identified a novel heterozygous ITGB3 p.T720del mutation in a pedigree with macrothrombocytopenia exhibiting aggregation dysfunction. Platelet aggregation induced by ADP and collagen was significantly reduced, while ristocetin aggregation was normal. Integrin αIIbβ3 was partially activated in a resting status
