General description

Recombinant, human P-selectin consisting of 730 amino acids minus the transmembrane and cytoplasmic domains expressed in CHO cells. This glycoprotein is expressed on activated platelets and endothelial cells. A specific interaction between P-selectin and P-selectin glycoprotein ligand-1, present on numerous cell types, promotes adhesion and acts along with L-selectin in establishing an initial interaction between circulating leukocytes and the endothelium.

Biochem/physiol Actions

Shown to bind to P-selectin ligands on U937 cells.

Warning

Toxicity: Standard Handling (A)

Physical form

Lyophilized from Dulbecco’s D-PBS (containing calcium and magnesium), 1% sorbitol.
