General description

Sodium thiosulfate is a versatile inorganic compound widely used as a reducing agent and sulfur source to synthesize various nanomaterials. It can also be used in the field of rechargeable batteries, medicine, water treatment, and photography.

Application

Sodium thiosulfate can be used:
  • As a precursor to synthesize gold and silver nanoparticles.
  • As a sulfur source to prepare copper sulfide nanoparticles.
  • As a sulfur passivating agent to prepare highly fluorescent carbon dots for sensing applications.
  • As a dopant and activating agent to fabricate carbon cathodes for Lithium-Sulfur batteries.
