General description

Homeobox A3 (HOXA3) transcription factor/protein belongs to the HOX family. The HOXA3 gene is mapped on the human chromosome at 7p15.2.

Specificity

Anti-HOXA3 specifically recognizes HOXA3.

Application

Anti-HOXA3 antibody produced in rabbit may be used in:
  • proximity ligation assay
  • immunoblotting
  • immunoprecipitation
  • immunofluorescence

Biochem/physiol Actions

Disruption of the homeobox A3 (HOXA3) gene results in embryonic lethality, which was rescued by placing HOXD3. HOXA3 gene expression is upregulated during neovascularization as a result of injury indicating that HOXA3 promotes angiogenesis. Mutations of the HOXA3 gene are associated with defects in thymus organogenesis and parathyroid development.

Physical form

Solution in 0.01 M phosphate buffered saline, pH 7.4, containing 15 mM sodium azide

Storage and Stability

Store at −20 °C. For continuous use, store at 2–8 °C for up to one month. For extended storage, freeze at −20 °C in working aliquots. Repeated freezing and thawing, or storage in “frost-free” freezers, is not recommended. If slight turbidity occurs upon prolonged storage, clarify the solution by centrifugation. Discard working dilutions if not used within 12 hours.
