General description

The antibody will neutralize human cell surface CXCR-2 mediated-myloperoxidase release from human granulocytes induced by GROα. It will not block myeloperoxidase release induced by IL-8. The antibody reacts with human CXCR-2 transfectant cells and not the parent cell line. The antibody shows no cross-reactivity with CXCR-1.

Immunogen

human CXCR2 transfected NSO mouse myeloma cells.

Biochem/physiol Actions

CXCR2 is a G protein-coupled receptor that binds IL-8 with high affinity. It mediates migration of neutrophils to the sites of inflammation. It also binds CXCL1 and stimulates growth of melanomas.

Physical form

Lyophilized from a 0.2 μm filtered solution in phosphate buffered saline containing carbohydrates.

Preparation Note

Purified using protein G.

Natural killer (NK) cells participate in innate and adaptive immune responses to obligate intracellular pathogens and malignant tumors. Two major NK cell subsets have been identified in humans: CD56(dim) CD16+ and CD56(bright) CD16-. Resting CD56(dim) CD16+ NK cells express CXCR1
