Gene Information

human ... PRDM1(639)

General description

PRDM1/Blimp1 is a repressor of beta-interferon gene expression. In the nucleus, PRDM1 is known to bind specifically with the Beta-interferon gene positive regulatory domain I (PRDI), and to interact with PRMT5. During B-cell differentiation, PRDM1 actively represses the transcription of the gene, c-myc, through binding its promoter and has been deemed a “master regulator” for terminal B-cell differentiation, as it is able to initiate the BCL1 cell developmental cascade. The transcription of this gene is increased upon virus infection.

Immunogen

Purified recombinant fragment of human PRDM1 expressed in E. Coli.

Application

Detect PRDM1 using this mouse monoclonal antibody, Anti-PRDM1 Antibody & clone 5E7 validated for use in western blotting.

Quality

Evaluated by Western Blotting in Raji, L1210, and TPH-1 cell lysates.

Western Blotting Analysis: A 1:500-2,000 dilution of this antibody detected PRDM1 in Raji, L1210, and TPH-1 cell lysates.

Optimal working dilutions must be determined by end user.

Target description

~88 kDa observed. Uncharacterized bands may appear in some lysate(s).

Physical form

Mouse monoclonal IgG1 ascitic fluid containing up to 0.1% sodium azide.
Unpurified

Storage and Stability

Stable for 1 year at -20°C from date of receipt.
Handling Recommendations: Upon receipt and prior to removing the cap, centrifuge the vial and gently mix the solution. Aliquot into microcentrifuge tubes and store at -20°C. Avoid repeated freeze/thaw cycles, which may damage IgG and affect product performance.
