General description

Estriol is found to be a major estrogen in pregnant women. It originates in the placenta from the estrogen precursors, made by the fetal adrenal gland and liver. Estriol levels are directly related to the delivery of the fetus and serve as an index of the fetal well-being.

Application

Estriol USP reference standard, intended for use in specified quality tests and assays as specified in the USP compendia. Also, for use with USP monographs such as:
  • Estriol Compounded Vaginal Cream
