General description

Dichloromethane is a polar and highly volatile organic compound (VOC), known for its versatile use in industries as an extraction solvent and metal cleaner and consumer products such as adhesives, spray shoe polishes, paint, and adhesive removers.

Application

Dichloromethane may be used in the following:

  • Extraction of neonicotinoids from honey samples along with acetonitrile using dispersive liquid-liquid microextraction (DLLME)
  • Ultrasonic solvent extraction and clean-up of roasted coffee samples for the analysis of 7 pesticide residues by liquid chromatography-tandem mass spectrometry (LC-MS/MS)
  • DLLME based additional pre-concentration of the sample extracts in the analysis of three amphenicols in food products of animal origin by HPLC with UV detection
  • Removal of organic phase of the obtained soil sample extracts in the determination of two sulfonylurea herbicides using HPLC
  • Testing of four extraction solvents in the development of a HPLC-amperometric detection based method for the analysis of three carbamate residues in liquid and solid food samples
  • Extraction of metrafenone from vegetable samples by matrix solid-phase dispersion (MSPD method followed by HPLC analysis

Suitable for HPLC, spectrophotometry, environmental testing
