mouse ... Tfam(21780)

General description

TFAM, also called mtTFA, is a mitochondrial transcription factor that is a key activator of mitochondrial transcription as well as a participant in mitochondrial genome replication. Studies in mice have demonstrated that this gene product is required to regulate the mitochondrial genome copy number and is essential for embryonic development.

Immunogen

His-tagged recombinant protein corresponding to mouse mtTFA.

Application

Detect TFAM using this rabbit polyclonal antibody, Anti-TFAM Antibody validated for use in western blotting & IP.
Immunoprecipitation Analysis: A representative lot from an independent laboratory immunoprecipitated TFAM in C2C12 cell lysate (Prof. B Kaufman, University of Pennsylvania.).
Research Category
Epigenetics & Nuclear Function
Research Sub Category
Transcription Factors

Quality

Evaluated by Western Blotting in C2C12 cell lysate.

Western Blotting Analysis: A 1:1,000 dilution of this antibody detected TFAM in 10 µg of C2C12 cell lysate.

Target description

~27 kDa observed

Physical form

Rabbit polyclonal serum containing 0.05% sodium azide.
Unpurified

Storage and Stability

Stable for 1 year at -20°C from date of receipt.
Handling Recommendations: Upon receipt and prior to removing the cap, centrifuge the vial and gently mix the solution. Aliquot into microcentrifuge tubes and store at -20°C. Avoid repeated freeze/thaw cycles, which may damage IgG and affect product performance.

The Parkinson's disease (PD)-associated gene leucine-rich repeat kinase 2 (LRRK2) has been studied extensively in the brain. However, several studies have established that mutations in LRRK2 confer susceptibility to mycobacterial infection, suggesting LRRK2 also controls immunity. We demonstrate that loss
