General description

Metadherin is a type 2 transmembrane protein who′s overexpression was first described in breast cancers. It plays an important role in the metastasis of breast cancers into the lungs as a secondary site of development. Antibodies reactive to the lung-homing domain of metadherin and siRNA-mediated knockdown of metadherin expression in breast cancer cells inhibited experimental lung metastasis, indicating that tumor cell metadherin mediates localization at the metastatic site (Brown, 2009).

Specificity

The antibody recognizes Metadherin at and around the homing domain.

Immunogen

Epitope: Homing domain
Recombinant GST-tagged proteins corresponding at or around the lung homing domain of mouse Metadherin.

Application

Anti-Metadherin Antibody is an antibody against Metadherin for use in WB & IC.
