General description

This intermediate polyelectrolyte can be cast into films of any dimension by evaporation or spin-coating. Thermal curing (250-300°C) under vacuum to drive off the remaining tetrahydrothiophene, HCl, and water yields unsubstituted PPV.

Application

Light-emitting polymer (PPV) precursor.
