Gene Information

human ... CDT1(81620)

General description

Chromatin licensing and DNA replication factor 1/Cdc10-dependent transcript 1 (CDT1), a G1-specific cell-cycle factor, belongs to the pre-replication complex (pre-RC). The CDT1 gene is located on the human chromosome 16q24.3.

Immunogen

Synthetic peptide containing a sequence corresponding to a region within amino acids 448 and 490 (Q9H211) of CDT1 according to AAH08676

Application

Suggested starting dilutions are as follows: ICC/IF: 1:100-1:1000, IHC-P: 1:100-1:1000, WB: 1:500-1:3000. Not yet tested in other applications. Optimal working dilutions should be determined experimentally by the end user.

Biochem/physiol Actions

Chromatin licensing and DNA replication factor 1/Cdc10-dependent transcript 1 (CDT1) is involved in minichromosome maintenance (MCM) loading at the G1 phase of the cell cycle. It plays a key role in origin licensing in eukaryotic cells. It is a DNA replication protein that stimulates the production of pre-replicative complexes and replication in the next cell cycle by accumulating at the end of the cell cycle. The CDT1 gene mutation can cause Meier–Gorlin syndrome, a type of primordial dwarfism.

Cdc10-dependent transcript 1 (Cdt1) is an essential DNA replication protein whose accumulation at the end of the cell cycle promotes the formation of pre-replicative complexes and replication in the next cell cycle. Geminin is thought to be involved in licensing
