General description

PROX1 (Prospero homeobox protein 1), the homolog of Drosophila Prospero, is a homeobox-containing transcription factor that binds and functions as a co-receptor of liver receptor homolog 1 (LRH1/NR5A2). It is a specific marker for lymphatic endothelial cells, as well as hepatoblasts and hepatocytes. Human Prox1 shares 97% amino acid sequence identity with mouse and rat Prox1.

Immunogen

KLH-conjugated linear peptide corresponding to the C-terminus of human Prospero homeobox protein 1/PROX1.

Application

Immunohistochemistry Analysis: A 1:2,000 dilution from a representative lot detected Prospero homeobox protein 1/PROX1 in mouse E16 embryo thalamus tissues (Prof. Samual Pleasure, University of California, San Francisco.).

This Anti-Prospero homeobox protein 1/PROX1 Antibody is validated for use in western blotting & IHC for the detection of Prospero homeobox protein 1/PROX1.

Quality

Evaluated by Western Blotting in HEK293 nuclear extract.

Western Blotting Analysis: A 1:500 dilution of this antibody detected Prospero homeobox protein 1/PROX1 in 10 µg of HEK293 nuclear extract.

Target description

~95 kDa observed. Uniprot describes a molecular weight at 83 kDa However, this protein may be observed between 80-110 kDa due to sumoylation and/or alternative start sites (Pan, M. R., et al. (2009). J Cell Sci. 122(Pt18):3358-3361.; Azuma, K., et al. (2011). Genes Cells. 16(11):1063-1070.).

Anxiety disorder is one of the most common comorbidities in temporal lobe epilepsy (TLE), but its neurobiological mechanisms remain unclear. Here we identified a novel target, interleukin-17A (IL-17A), which can contribute to TLE-associated anxiety. Epileptic seizures were induced in 6-week-old
