General description

Norbuprenorphine glucuronide is a urinary metabolite of the semi-synthetic opioid analgesic buprenorphine. Buprenorphine, sold under the trade names Temgesic and Subutex, is prescribed for the treatment of chronic pain and heroin addiction. This internal standard is suitable for quantitation of norbuprenorphine glucuronide levels or isotope dilution methods by GC/MS or LC/MS for pain prescription monitoring, clinical toxicology, urine drug testing or forensic analysis.

Application

  • Stable isotope-labeled Norbuprenorphine for mass spectrometry: The application of stable isotope-labeled compounds like Norbuprenorphine glucuronide-D3 in mass spectrometry enhances the reliability of detecting and quantifying opioid metabolites, crucial for both clinical diagnostics and therapeutic monitoring (Pesce et al., 2024).
