General description

Silver nitrate is a white crystalline salt, and it is less light-sensitive than other silver halides.. It can simply be produced by dissolving silver in nitric acid and then evaporating the solution.

Application

Silver nitrate can be used:
  • As a lithium storage material for lithium-ion batteries due to its lithiation/delithiation behavior.
  • To fabricate Ag decorated rGO electrocatalyst for the oxygen reduction reaction in zinc air batteries.
  • As an electron sacrificial reagent for overall water splitting reaction.
  • As a precursor to tune the shape of gold nanoparticles.
  • To prepare silver vanadium oxide cathode material for batteries.
