General description

Tridecafluorohexane-1-sulfonic acid potassium salt (PFHxS), also known as potassium perfluorohexanesulfonate, is a perfluorochemical (PFC) that belongs to the perfluoroalkyl sulfonates group. Its presence as a contaminant in the effluents of Taiwanese industrial wastewater treatment plant (IWWTP) and municipal wastewater treatment plants (MWWTPs) has been evaluated. It has been detected in the human serum samples by on-line solid-phase extraction (SPE) method coupled to high-performance liquid chromatography (HPLC)-tandem mass spectrometry (MS/MS).

Perfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS) represent a family of environmental toxicants that have infiltrated the living world. This study explores diet-PFAS interactions and the impact of perfluorooctanesulfonic acid (PFOS) and perfluorohexanesulfonic (PFHxS) on the hepatic proteome and blood lipidomic profiles.
