Gene Information

human ... GCR(2908)

General description

Glucocorticoid receptor (GR) gene/NR3C1 (nuclear receptor subfamily 3 group C member 1) is located on human chromosome 5q31. It belongs to the steroid receptor superfamily that has ligand-activated nuclear transcription factors.

Immunogen

The antiserum was produced against synthesized peptide derived from human GR around the phosphorylation site of Ser226.

Immunogen Range: 201-250

Biochem/physiol Actions

The glucocorticoid receptor (GR) gene/(NR3C1) is associated with asthma. It is required for glucose homeostasis and has been associated with hyperinsulinemia and increased fat deposition. GR also regulates cell differentiation, nervous and immune system functions.
