General description
Human complement 5a (C5a) is generated during complement activation from the α-chain of complement C5. It binds to a signaling G-protein coupled receptor (GPCR), inducing neutrophil chemotaxis and endothelial cell activation. C5a also triggers an oxidative burst in macrophages and neutrophils and induces release of histamine in basophils and mast cells.
The antibody pair provided in this kit recognizes human Complement Component C5a.
