General description

Method: reflectometric with test strips 0.2 - 20.0 mg/l H₂O₂ Reflectoquant®
Peroxide is an all purpose disinfectant which, due to its excellent antiviral, bactericidal and fungicidal action, is widely used in the food industry. Here, the Reflectoquant test strips are suited for the determination of inorganic peroxides in aqueous solutions. Furthermore the test can be used in disinfecting and rinsing solutions (e.g. in food technology, laundries) and in swimming-pool water. Peroxidase transfers peroxide oxygen to an organic redox indicator. This produces a blue oxidation product that is determined reflectometrically on the RQflex. For pre-testing a sample in an economic and quick way to estimate the peroxide concentration and a possible dilution factor prior to using this quantitative method we recommend our semi-quantitative MQuant test strips for peroxide.

Application

  • Application of copper (I) selective ligands for PET imaging of reactive oxygen species: This research uses peroxide detection in biomedical imaging to trace reactive oxygen species in vivo, aiding in the diagnosis and study of diseases associated with oxidative stress (Tada et al., 2024).

  • Optimization of Pressurized Liquid Extraction (PLE) Parameters for Extraction of Bioactive Compounds: This study employs peroxide tests in the extraction of bioactive compounds from plant materials, enhancing the efficiency of natural product extraction processes (Chatzimitakos et al., 2024).

  • Highly Sensitive, Easy-to-Use, One-Step Detection of Peroxide-, Nitrate- and Chlorate-Based Explosives: Developing highly sensitive detection methods for explosives using electron-rich Ni porphyrins, this application serves crucial roles in safety and security fields, demonstrating the versatility of peroxide tests (Brockmann et al., 2024).
