General description
Nourish and oxygenate plant cultures by intermittent immersion in medium with the easy to use RITA® system. The 0.9 L vessel holds cultures on a screen disc or in a basket. Low pressure, sterile filtered air is pumped into the chamber, forcing the liquid medium up and bathing the culture.
The air flow oxygenates and agitates the medium. When the flow is turned off, pressure drops, and the medium returns to the bottom of the vessel. All components are autoclavable and reusable.
Using manifold and solenoid valves, one air pump can operate several vessels automatically. Manifold, air pump, inlet and outlet filters are not included.
The RITA® temporary immersion system for in vitro plant culture ensures improved yields compared with culture on a gel medium.

- Simple plant and medium handling
- Improved nutrition: the plant is in close contact with the medium during the immersion process
- The plant is covered by a capillary film (Polysulfone) throughout the remaining period of its immersion
- Marked reduction in asphyxiation
- Complete renewal of the culture atmosphere on each immersion
- Control of morphological processes by modifying immersion frequency and duration
- The two Inlet and Outlet filters have a pore size of 1 μm and are 37 mm in diameter
