General description

This stable-labeled internal standard is suitable for quantitation of tizanidine levels in GC/MS or LC/MS methods for clinical toxicology, urine drug testing, pain prescription monitoring, forensic analysis or isotope dilution applications. Tizanidine, sold under the tradename Zanaflex®, is a skeletal muscle relaxant used for treatment of spasticity associated with multiple sclerosis, and for painful muscle spasms.

Application

  • Development and Validation of an LC-MS-MS Method for the Detection of 40 Benzodiazepines and Three Z-Drugs in Blood and Urine by Solid-Phase Extraction.: This research presents a validated method for the comprehensive detection of 40 benzodiazepines, including alpha-Hydroxyalprazolam, and three Z-drugs in biological matrices. The methodology utilizes LC-MS-MS, ensuring high sensitivity and specificity (Sofalvi et al., 2020).

  • Quantitation of Benzodiazepines and Metabolites in Urine by Liquid Chromatography-Tandem Mass Spectrometry.: Zheng et al. discuss a quantitation method for several benzodiazepines, including metabolites like alpha-Hydroxyalprazolam, using LC-MS/MS which provides reliable results for clinical and forensic analysis (Zheng et al., 2018).
