Application

1,4-Dinitro-1-imidazole (1,4-DNIm) and other dinitroimidazoles were demonstrated to be bifunctional bioconjugation reagents for protein functionalization and peptide macrocyclization. In acidic to neutral aqueous conditions, 1,4-DNIms chemoselectively react with cysteines; in organic solvents in the presence of base, 1,4-DNIms chemoselectively react with lysines to form stable conjugates
