General description
The 96-well protein precipitation filter plate is ideal for removing precipitated proteins from biological plasma/serum. The plate consists of a 0.2 μm hydrophobic graded filter/frit. Biological plasma is first added to the 96-well plate followed by a protein precipitating agent (e.g., acetonitrile). After a brief mixing step, vacuum is applied to the plate, and the filter/frit removes precipitated proteins from the sample. The resulting filtrate is ready for further processing and/or analysis.
Application
- Determination of estrone sulfate, testosterone, androstenedione, DHEAS, cortisol, cortisone, and 17α-hydroxyprogesterone by LC-MS/MS in children and adolescents.: This study employs 96-Well Protein Precipitation Filter Plates for rapid sample preparation, significantly increasing the throughput of hormone analysis in pediatric populations. This technique enhances the accuracy and efficiency of hormonal assessments, crucial for clinical and research settings (Ankarberg-Lindgren et al., 2020).
- Quantitative Determination of Ethyl Glucuronide and Ethyl Sulfate in Postmortem and Antemortem Whole Blood Using Phospholipid Removal 96-Well Plate and UHPLC-MS-MS.: This research demonstrates the utility of 96-Well Filter Plates in removing phospholipids from blood samples, streamlining the detection of ethyl glucuronide and ethyl sulfate, substances important for forensic and clinical toxicology (Sidqey et al., 2021).
- Development of a CDC-certified total testosterone assay for adult and pediatric samples using LC-MS/MS.: The study highlights the application of 96-Well Protein Precipitation Filter Plates in developing a CDC-certified assay for testosterone, showing their critical role in enhancing diagnostic accuracy in clinical settings (Star-Weinstock et al., 2019).
- Validation and application of a liquid chromatography-tandem mass spectrometric method for quantification of the drug transport probe fexofenadine in human plasma using 96-well filter plates.: This paper validates a high-throughput method for the analysis of fexofenadine, showcasing the 96-Well Filter Plates′ efficiency in clinical pharmacology and bioanalysis settings (Stanton et al., 2010).
