Gene Information

human ... LIPE(3991)

General description

Anti-HSL Antibody detects endogenous levels of total HSL protein.
Hormone sensitive lipase (HSL) is coded by LIPE (lipase E) gene. It is an intracellular lipase which acts on triglycerides, diglycerides, monoglycerides, cholesterol esters and retinyl esters. It is mapped to human chromosome 19q13.

Immunogen

The antiserum was produced against synthesized peptide derived from human HSL.

Immunogen Range: 518-567

Application

Anti-HSL antibody has been used in SDS-PAGE and western blotting.
Applications in which this antibody has been used successfully, and the associated peer-reviewed papers, are given below.
Western Blotting (1 paper)

Biochem/physiol Actions

Hormone sensitive lipase (HSL) plays an important role in lipolysis. Lack of HSL results in histologic abnormalities in white adipose tissue and an increase in macrophage infiltration.
