Gene Information

human ... ATP6AP2(10159)

Immunogen

Recombinant fragment corresponding to a region within amino acids 146 and 350 of Renin Receptor (Uniprot ID#O75787)

Application

Suggested starting dilutions are as follows: ICC/IF: 1:100-1:1000, WB: 1:500-1:3000. Not yet tested in other applications. Optimal working dilutions should be determined experimentally by the end user.

Biochem/physiol Actions

This gene encodes a protein that is associated with adenosine triphosphatases (ATPases). Proton-translocating ATPases have fundamental roles in energy conservation, secondary active transport, acidification of intracellular compartments, and cellular pH homeostasis. There are three classes of ATPases- F, P, and V. The vacuolar (V-type) ATPases have a transmembrane proton-conducting sector and an extramembrane catalytic sector. The encoded protein has been found associated with the transmembrane sector of the V-type ATPases. [provided by RefSeq]

Evidence indicates that chronic angiotensin II (AngII) infusion increases (pro)renin receptor ((P)RR) expression in renal inner medullary collecting duct (IMCD) cells. Recently, it has been shown that renal (P)RR expression is augmented during a low-salt (LS) diet. However, the role
