General description

NSMAF (neutral sphingomyelinase activation associated factor) belongs to the WD40 (β-transducin) family of proteins. The gene is mapped to human chromosome 8q12-q13.

Application

Biochem/physiol Actions

NSMAF (neutral sphingomyelinase activation associated factor) associates with p55 TNFR (tumor necrosis factor receptor) and is needed for the stimulation of N-SMase (neutral sphingomyelinase).
