Mouse C3H/An liver

Cell Line Description

Derived from mouse liver cell line NCTC 721 which was obtained from normal liver of a 2 day old C3H/An mouse. The cells have been used in biochemical and nutritional studies. The cells are susceptible to VSV (Indiana strain).

Application

Cell suspension systems. Biochemical, nutritional and virus studies. VSV(Indiana)

Culture Medium

NCTC 135 + 2mM Glutamine + 10% Horse Serum (HS)

Subculture Routine

Split sub-confluent cultures (70-80%) 1:2 to 1:4 using only mechanical techniques, such as scraper, do not use trypsin, 5-10CO₂; 37°C. Change media every 3 days. Freeze in 10% glycerol/90% FBS. Cells are shed into the medium giving it a turbid appearan
