Specificity

GST-pi belongs to a family of isoenzymes involved in the detoxification of xenobiotics, including carcinogens. GST-pi exists in various tumor tissues and neoplastic lesions. GST-pi is described as a possible histochemical and serological marker for various human neoplasms. Antibody AB8902 has been demonstrated to have reactivity with GST-pi by western blot and RIA. Cross-reactivities with other GST isoenzymes (μ or alpha) and GS-peroxidase were less than 0.1%. No detectable cross-reactivity with other tissue and serum proteins is evident.
