Biochem/physiol Actions

Hexachlorophene is selective and potent N-acyl-phosphatidylethanolamine phospholipase D (NAPE-PLD) inhibitor. Hexachlorophene potently inhibits NAPE-PLD activity in cultured HEK293 cells. Hexachlorophene is an antibacterial compound used topically by health-care personnel to control cutaneous gram-positive infections. Also it appears that hexachlorophene is an inhibitor of virus entry for Severe fever with thrombocytopenia syndrome virus (SFTSV).
