Biochem/physiol Actions
IL-17, initially known as CTLA-8, is a T cell-expressed polypeptide that appears to be involved in the regulation of the hematopoietic system. IL-17 has been shown to induce IL-6, IL-8, and G-CSF production by fibroblasts; all of these cytokines have demonstrated effects on hematopoiesis.
Physical form
Lyophilized with no additives.
Analysis Note
- The biological activity of human IL-17 is measured by its ability to induce IL-6 production using NHDF cells.
- Biological activity is also determined by the dose-dependent induction of IL-6 in primary human foreskin fibroblast. The expected ED50 is < 2.0 ng/ml, corresponding to a specific activity of > 5 x 105 units/mg.

Th1 cells play an essential role in immune protection against tuberculosis. Th17 cells might be involved with immune pathology in active human tuberculosis (TB). The balance between Th1 and Th17 cells in patients with cavitary tuberculosis needs to be clarified
The Journal of asthma : official journal of the Association for the Care of Asthma, 52(10), 981-988 (2015-08-25)
There has been significant interest in the association between asthma and the polymorphisms of IL-17A and IL-17F for a period of time. This work aims to present a clearer relationship between asthma and the polymorphisms of IL-17A and IL-17F. Searches

We conducted a study to investigate the role of three IL-17 gene single nucleotide polymorphisms (SNP) (rs2275913G>A, rs3748067C>T, and rs763780 T>C) in the development of gastric cancer. A total of 252 patients with gastric cancer and 252 control subjects were

The interleukin 17A (IL17A) gene, located on chromosome 6p and linked to asthma phenotype, is a highly potential candidate gene conferring asthma susceptibility. The purpose of this study was to investigate the genetic association between single nucleotide polymorphisms (SNPs) of
