General description

Method: Colorimetric with test strips and reagents 10 - 25 - 50 - 100 mg/L (Ca2+) MQuant®

The MQuant® Calcium test includes test strips and all necessary additional reagents and is suitable for rapid determination of calcium in aqueous media. In the presence of hydrogen peroxide calcium ions react with glyoxal-bis(2-hydroxyanil) to form a red complex. The calcium concentration is measured semi-quantitatively by visual comparison of the reaction zone of the test strip with the fields of a color scale. For a quantitative determination of calcium in different concentration ranges please refer to our Reflectoquant® and Spectroquant® tests.

Application

  • Development of a blood calcium test for hypocalcemia diagnosis in dairy cows.: This study focuses on creating a blood calcium test to diagnose hypocalcemia in dairy cows. The test′s development and validation are crucial for improving animal health and productivity in the dairy industry (Fu et al., 2022).
