Ethyl vanillin may be used as a reference standard in the quantitative determination of ethyl vanillin in vanillin extract products using headspace-solid phase microextraction (HS-SPME) combined with gas chromatography coupled with mass spectrometry (GC–MS) and liquid chromatography coupled with mass spectrometry (LC-MS).
