General description

Finding the right critical raw material that matches your quality expectation can be challenging. Especially if you are advancing through clinical phases, changing regulatory requirements can raise several questions.

As part of our EMPROVE® Program, our raw materials are offered with extensive documentation facilitating compliance of your pharma and biopharma product, full supply chain transparency and risk mitigation. Our SAFC® portfolio of high-quality products for biopharmaceutical and pharmaceutical formulation and production withstands strict quality control procedures and is produced according to applicable cGMP guidelines.

Application

Spermidine has several applications that are going beyond its chemical behavior as a base. The amino groups can interact with the phosphate groups of DNA and RNA and stabilize them. In addition, spermidine has a positive impact on transcription by RNA polymerases and can be found in several buffers. Within RNA bioprocessing, spermidine can be used for purification to bind and precipitate DNA. It may also be considered as adjuvant for mRNA vaccines.

The EMPROVE® Expert quality grade provided with this product is tested for microbial and endotoxin levels and is RNase and DNase free. Stability studies according to ICH Q7 are running and stability conclusions will be available via EMPROVE® Suite.

Biochem/physiol Actions

Inhibits neuronal nitric oxide synthase (nNOS). Binds and precipitates DNA; may be used for purification of DNA binding proteins. Stimulates T4 polynucleotide kinase activity.

Caution

Solutions should be sterile-filtered, not autoclaved, if sterile solution is necessary. Spermidine deaminates with time; solutions should be stored frozen. Prepare new solutions frequently.
