General description

Application: Modified (deactivated) version of SLB-IL59 provides better inertness. Selectivity more polar than PEG/wax phases, resulting in unique elution patterns. Higher maximum temperature than PEG/wax columns (300 ºC compared to 270-280 ºC). Excellent alternative to existing PEG/wax columns. Also a good GCxGC column choice. Launched in 2012.

Protocols

ionic liquids can successfully be used as viable GC stationary phases. These consist of two or more organic cations joined by a linkage, and associated with... improved inertness for polar analytes was the inspiration for the development of SLB™-IL (i-series) ionic liquid capillary GC columns. They solve a dilemma.

Benefits of higher temperature limits over PEG columns include decreased analysis times, elevated bake-out, and analysis of additional higher boiling compounds.
