Cell Line Origin

Human pancreas adenocarcinoma ascites metastasis

Cell Line Description

This cell line was derived from nude mouse xenografts initiated with cells from the ascites of a 62-year-old female Caucasian patient with cancer of the pancreas. The cells produce carcinoembryonic antigen (CEA), human pancreas associated antigen, human pancreas specific antigen and mucin.

Culture Medium

RPMI 1640 + 2mM Glutamine + 1mM Sodium Pyruvate (NaP) + 10% Foetal Bovine Serum (FBS).

Subculture Routine

Split sub-confluent cultures (70-80%) 1:3 i.e. seeding at 2-4x10,000 cells/cm2 using 0.25% trypsin or trypsin/EDTA; 5% CO2; 37°C.
